Halton Healthcare Receives over $920,000 in Incentives for Energy Efficiency Equipment at the new Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital

(Oakville, ON) June 17, 2016 – Significant energy conservation efforts made at the new Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital were recognized today, with representatives from Halton Healthcare, Oakville Hydro, the Independent Electricity System Operator (“IESO”), the Town of Oakville and the Province of Ontario on hand for the celebration.

With the assistance of Oakville Hydro, Halton Healthcare received over $920,000 towards energy efficiency equipment at the new Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital through an incentive offered by the IESO’s Save on Energy HIGH PERFORMANCE NEW CONSTRUCTION (“HPNC”) program. 

The HPNC program provides design assistance and incentives for building owners and planners who design and implement energy efficient equipment within their new space.   Modifications include energy recovery systems, energy efficient LED lighting and controls, high efficiency boilers and chillers with variable volume air handling and pumping systems and water reduction systems, all of which were designed to reduce the energy intensity of the facility.
