Oakville Hydro Receives OEA Customer Service Award

(Oakville, ON) October 5, 2021 – Oakville Hydro is pleased to announce it has received the Customer Service Award from the Ontario Energy Association (OEA). The award recognizes a company or team that has led a project to significantly improve the experience of energy customers. Oakville Hydro has been selected as this year’s recipient for customer support program enhancements implemented during the pandemic.

“From the beginning of the pandemic we have maintained a safe and reliable electricity supply, while improving customer access to data, financial tools and support,” said Scott Mudie, Chief Operating Officer, Oakville Hydro. “Thanks to our team’s commitment, our operations and services remained ready to connect with our customers and respond to their needs. This award would not be possible without the support of the entire Oakville Hydro team. A big thank you goes out to all of our employees for being leaders and innovators that demonstrate a personal commitment to excellence, every day.”

Award-Winning Campaign
During the pandemic, Oakville Hydro’s residential customers were economically impacted, while many small businesses experienced a shutdown of operations. There were several Government initiatives deployed to assist people and businesses, but feedback from customers identified additional opportunities for support. Recognizing the impact on customers and staying true to its commitment to service excellence, Oakville Hydro employed a proactive customer outreach program that included improved access to data, financial tools and customized account support.

The Customer Service Award was presented during the OEA’s 2021 Energy Awards, which recognize and reward individuals and teams for outstanding leadership and achievements in the Ontario energy sector.
